A high
quality primer for manufacturing post-painted parts.
Usage
To manufacture post-painted
composite parts using polyester, vinyl ester and epoxy-resin
systems, in high-temperature open- and closed-mold and
epoxy pre-pregapplications. The primer is formulated for
low shrinkage and bonds in mold to epoxy-resin laminating
systems, as well as when post-applied. A gel coat alternative.
Features
Duratec Vinyl Ester
In-Mold Primer reduces the amount of finishing work required
on molded fiberglass parts, saving labor and material
costs.
Here's why you should
choose Duratec Vinyl Ester In-Mold Primer:
Low porositynormally
no post-priming is required prior to top coating.
Smoother surface
profilehigh gloss finishes lay out better than
those applied to gel coat-primed substrates.
Higher heat distortion
temperaturesreduces post-curing shrinkage of
primed surfaces compared with gel coats. This is especially
important when top coats are cured at elevated termperatures.
Higher elongation
primed surfaceprovides better impact resistance
than gel coats.
Lighter weight productsspray
only 8-12 mils, 200-300 microns, thickness versus 15-20
mils, 375 microns, thickness of gel coat.
Sand demolded parts
only onceand save time and materials.
